For Her Hair
I think I've come up with a good idea for the "tiara" for my daughter's princess costume. I am using a fake pearl necklace (18"), a spray of artificial flowers, white tulle and ribbon. Here is the work in progress:
I'm tying little bits of tulle on the necklace, then stringing ribbon through the holes in the flowers and tying them on too. I tied some ribbon onto the ends of the necklace and that ribbon will tie at the back of my daughter's head. I still need to add some more tulle and some silver ribbon (to match the silver ribbon on the dress), and it should be ready to wear. I did go ahead and put it on my daughter at this "in process" stage to be sure it would stay on, and it seemed to stay put for at least a few minutes. I'm sure she will be trying to yank it off after about ten minutes of wearing it, but hopefully she will keep it on long enough Friday to get a good picture of her in full costume.
I did get the dress finished yesterday (HOORAH)! The last step is to make the gauntlets. I don't think they will get done today, though, because I'm not feeling too good right now and am going to go take a nap with the kids. I think my all day sickness has turned into evening sickness. It seems that from about 4:00 on until I go to bed I am just really nauseated these days. Of course, this means the mornings are MUCH better, for which I am thankful. Hopefully there will only be a few more weeks of feeling queasy!
