The Apron is Finished!
This morning I was able to finish the apron I have been working on. I used charm pack fabric squares called "MONKEY 'N ROUND" - By Erin Michael for Moda for this apron. The squares were five inches square. Here is a picture of the reverse side of all the squares once I got them all sewn together:
What I learned from this project:
1 - I do not know how to apply double fold bias tape around corners
2 - I am not able to comprehend written instructions for how to apply bias tape around corners
3 - When I try to "wing it" when applying bias tape around corners, the results are far from stellar
I have concluded that I need some one on one instruction on how to apply bias tape. I think I will put this on a list of things to ask my Mom to show me. Below is a picture of the finished apron. Mr. and Mrs. Monk were very understanding about this being my first apron, and were very kind in their review of my work:

Cute! Bias tape is tricky, there must be a tutorial out there...not that it'll help (me anyway). Maybe some special presser foot, so you can get in close, maybe a zipper foot would do.
